Gavi funds[1][2][3][4][5] 2005 High ranking officials in government diverted millions of dollars’ worth of funds from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization and from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in 2005.The Geneva based fund suspended five grants totaling over US $ 200 million after $45 million had been disbursed to Uganda over two years. The suspension was lifted in November 2005, after the government officials responsible had been replaced by the international accounting firm, Ernst & Young.
OPM scandal[12] 2012 12.7 million US dollars in donor funds earmarked for rebuilding northern Uganda, ravaged by a 20 year war, and Karamoja, Uganda's poorest region, were embezzled from the office of the Prime Minister(OPM).
