Hirono, Fukushima
Template:Infobox City Japan Hirono (広野町, Hirono-machi) is a town located in Futaba District, Fukushima, Japan.
As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 5,653 and a density of 96.81 persons per km². The total area is 58.39 km².
In the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, the town was included in the emergency evacuation preparation zone. The town's management, however, recommended that all residents evacuate and all civic services were shut down. The town's government returned and reopened on 1 March 2012.[1]
The fossil-fuel powered Hirono Power Station located directly at the Pacific Ocean about 3 km north of the town was also damaged by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Tepco managed to returned the power station to operation four months later.
