Uirou is a traditional Japanese sweet well-known especially in Nagoya. There are many flavors for Uirou such as azuki, maccha, strawberry and chest nuts. There are many colors and design for Uirou as well, and they are very beautiful. Uirou tastes sweet and it is chewy like mochi. Ingredients for Uirou is very simple. Kome-ko, the rice powder and sugar is what mainly needed to make Uirou. In stores selling Japanese traditional sweets, you can see many kinds of beautiful Uirou and often the flavor and the design changes by the seasons.
