Hokkaido University (北海道大学; Hokkaido Daigaku, or Hokudai) is one of the leading national universities located in Sapporo, Japan.

The university was founded as Hokkaido Imperial University (北海道帝国大学; Hokkaido Teikoku Daigaku) with other imperial universities in Meiji Era.
