Furudono is located in southern portion of Fukushima prefecture. The town is surrounded by forests and mountains. Furudono has a humid climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa). The average annual temperature in Furudono is 10.9 °C (51.6 °F). The average annual rainfall is 1,446 mm (56.9 in) with September as the wettest month.The temperatures are highest on average in August, at around 22.9 °C (73.2 °F), and lowest in January, at around 0.0 °C (32.0 °F).[2]
