*[[April 1]], [[1923]] Chashikotsu Village from [[Notsuke District, Hokkaidō|Notsuke district]], Shibetsu Village and Ichani Village from [[Shibetsu District, Hokkaidō|Shibetsu District]], Chuurui Village, Kunnebetsu (?) Village and Sakimui?? Village (崎無意村) from Menashi District merge to form Shibetsu Village (now [[Shibetsu, Hokkaidō|Shibetsu Town]]) in Shibetsu District.

The area of Menashi District in Nemuro Subprefecture.

Menashi (目梨郡, -gun) is a District located in Nemuro Subprefecture, Hokkaidō, Japan. As of 2004, its population is estimated at 6,752 and its area is 397.84 km². The district was one of the settings of the Menashi-Kunashir Battle of 1789.
